Jill, age 10, struggled with hyperactivity, restlessness, impulse control problems, inattention, and distractibility. Her pediatrician had suggested trying a couple of different medications but Jill's mother was interested in trying alternative treatments first. She had heard about our work with neurofeedback and wanted an alternative to medications.

Jill did neurofeedback twice a week and we quickly began seeing significant changes, including less hyperactivity and longer ability to focus. After her first phase in her program she was able to lower her visits to once a week and continued to excel in her home life and at school.

WHAT IS NEUROFEEDBACK?

Neurofeedback is a specialized treatment that uses advanced computer technology for balancing and optimizing your brain. It is a fun, interactive and engaging treatment that helps you strengthen and retrain your brain to a healthier, more focused state.

Using real-time displays of brain activity, you can learn how to self-regulate your brain function.

Brandon, age 17, came to the clinic for problems with anxiety, worrying, temper outbursts, poor school performance, and oppositional behavior. He had been in psychotherapy for two years, which seemed to help his temper problems but not his oppositional behavior or school performance. Additionally, he had tried two different medications but he did not like the side effects.

When he learned about neurofeedback he liked the idea of learning how to control his own brain. We did neurofeedback twice a week and within the first month he noticed less worrying. By the end of 6 months he felt more focused, less anxious, and overall more cooperative, which his family validated.

Research has demonstrated the effectiveness of neurofeedback to improve many conditions including:

  • ADD/ADHD
  • Anxiety
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Chronic Pain
  • Depression
  • Headaches
  • Memory Issues
  • PTSD
  • Sleep Problems
  • Traumatic Brain Injury

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF NEUROFEEDBACK?

Patients report enhanced memory and focus, decreased impulsivity and anxiety, better mental clarity, more restful sleep, improved mood, and a host of other benefits after using neurofeedback without side effects!

In fact, the American Academy of Pediatrics named neurofeedback a “Level 1: ‘Best Support’ intervention for ADD/ADHD, on par with medication.”

The effects and benefits of training last long after the training itself has stopped. Because the brain has actually learned (or relearned) a more efficient way of performing, it will continue in this way as new pathways in the brain are created, thus making lasting change the path of least effort.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

While each brainwave is responsive for different body functions, they all are equally important to your health and well-being. Researchers have known for decades the correlation between Irregular brainwaves and common neurological conditions. Brain Mapping and Neurofeedback are the first fields to directly target these irregular brainwaves and restore them to normal ranges.

Before starting your Neurofeedback program, you must get a Brain Map to determine the foundation of your brain health.

Each time a chiropractor adjusts someone’s spine, we replace the negative information that is flooding the brain with positive information. This recalibrates the brain to help stop the release of chronic stress hormones and allows overall health and healing to occur. Every time a person receives a chiropractic adjustment, it positively affects the brain and nervous system. This positive effect on the brain promotes a state of ease and well-being within the body.
